~ Carl Jung ~
My name is Rebecca Young, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor providing services in Colorado and, soon, Wyoming. As a master's level clinician, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals in healing from trauma and managing the challenges of everyday life. Currently, I utilize my clinical expertise at Veteran Affairs, working with those who have served our country—our Veterans. As a US Navy veteran myself, it is an honor to contribute to the healing of the brave men and women who have defended our nation. Through my private practice: VIALYF, I am excited to extend my commitment to serving the community by offering my clinical skills and support Part-Time.
I specialize in childhood and relational trauma, PTSD, anxiety, stress, depression, and relationship issues. My approach to therapy centers on establishing a strong therapeutic relationship that allows you to feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood. Together, we will examine the unique challenges and experiences that have shaped your reality and contributed to behavioral and relational patterns that were developed for your protection but may no longer be beneficial. Often, the authentic self is obscured by layers of trauma and maladaptive behaviors that lead to distress, depression, anxiety, negative thoughts, relationship difficulties, and addictions. In our sessions, we will focus on alleviating the loneliness, pain, and frustration you may experience and rediscovering your true self. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
If you are experiencing difficulties with depression, you may feel a sense of hopelessness, apprehensive that things may never improve. We would like to assure you that there are brighter days ahead, even if it may not seem that way at the moment. I can assist you in uncovering the underlying causes of your depression and recommend comprehensive treatments that address all aspects of your life.
When you encounter a traumatic event (or a series of events), your perspective on life can be significantly altered. It can be daunting and overwhelming to perceive the world through the lens of trauma, often resulting in a heightened state of vigilance. However, you do not have to continue experiencing life in this manner. I am here to assist you in reprocessing your trauma and empowering you to reshape your narrative
Anxiety is a natural aspect of being human; however, it doesn't have to dominate your life. In anxiety therapy, your therapist will assist you in exploring the underlying factors that contribute to your anxiety. Additionally, you will acquire new coping strategies that engage the mind, body, and spirit, ultimately helping you regain a sense of control.
From the moment we enter the world, we seek emotional connections with others, a need that persists throughout our lives. However, during times of stress, trauma, or other challenges, our capacity for emotional connection can be affected. We will examine the current challenges in your relationships and develop skills and tools for effective communication, fairness, and healthy boundaries.
